Sniper Ghost Warrior is a game that has been put under the microscope for its realism, but some players are not happy with the lack of aim assist in console versions. The title is designed to be accurate, and one player modded the game to give him an unfair advantage. This player created a wallhack map modifier which was attached to any multiplayer match. This would theoretically allow him to see through walls and find enemies without them seeing him. The map modifier resulted in unfair gameplay, so it was removed after only being used once by this particular player. There are no plans on behalf of CI Games or its partners at City Interactive Gaming Limited to introduce this type of mod into future iterations of Sniper Ghost Warrior. This type of action is not only unfair to the opposing players in-game, but it’s also unfair to the game itself. CI Games and City Interactive Gaming Limited do not want to see their game manipulated in order to give one player an advantage against his or her opponents. There are already enough issues with hackers in online multiplayer games without adding more problems into the mix. Overall, this issue came up on Xbox Live after only one player was discovered using this exploit. This isn’t something that is prevalent in all versions of Sniper Ghost Warrior, but it does show that issues can arise even when developers try their best to prevent piracy and foul play during gameplay sessions. According to The NPD Group, "Sniper: Ghost Warrior" sold 5,000 copies in the United States during the month of April 2011.
